Career Exploration
The Highlands Economic Partnership provides an exciting and unique opportunity for K-12 students to explore their interests and passions. Through our innovative and hands-on immersive learning experiences in our eight industry clusters, students will gain valuable insight into the career paths that excite them and help them to discover their true potential. From kindergarten all the way to twelfth grade, every student in the Highlands region has a career exploration interaction every year. All data is tracked to study the interest of the students.
We have an exciting children's coloring book called 'Oh, the Places You Could Work' that introduces K-2 graders to various industry clusters in the Highlands region. The book features businesses from across the region and will be distributed to over 10,000 students in the Upper Cumberland area for free. It's a fun and educational way to inspire young minds about the possibilities of their future careers. This is the first of several steps in place for the Highlands Economic Partnership to allow the seeds of innovation and passion drive the workforce of the future.
Highlands Heroes
Highlands Heroes is an initiative of the Highlands Economic Partnership. Our mission is to bring together a group of dedicated professionals from a variety of industry clusters to travel to K-12 and post secondary schools in the Highlands region. We introduce students of all ages to future career possibilities, inspiring them to pursue their passions and gain the skills they need to succeed. Our Highlands Heroes are passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise with students, providing them with the opportunity to gain invaluable insight into the working world. We are committed to inspiring the next generation to reach their potential and make a positive impact on their local community.
8th Grade Career Fair
The Highlands Economic Partnership is proud to present the 8th Grade Career Fair. We believe that hands-on learning is the best way for young adults to discover their passions and interests. Our fair features eight industry clusters and provides students with the chance to learn about various career paths. At the end of the fair, each student will have the opportunity to present on what they want to be when they grow up. Our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation to pursue their dreams and find success.

Each year, we proudly host the Annual CTE Banquets to celebrate and congratulate the achievements of our exceptional students. By recognizing their hard work and dedication, we aim to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals who will drive economic growth and innovation in our communities.
